I have been painting in a site out on Sedgemoor where the welcoming people and children are enjoying their non materialistic lifestyle.
A community are living in £500 old caravans not sweating to pay off mortgages enjoying the murmurations and nature. Such warm and friendly people !

I wrote to my sister Jo, she also paints, I and told her all about my experience and she responded with the following.

Water colour painting can present the ‘soul’ of a natural environment place.

It can acknowledge the ‘divine presence’ manifesting in trees, hills, plants, the weather …

Urban people cannot understand this ; their perception is disqualified .
Most people now live in cities , have been brought up in cities , for them conceptual art is the necessary substitute. they want & need soulless art
As Wordsworth said (1802)

The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;—
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
